Introducing Upward HR! Relationships, Resilience, Reinvention

If you have been following me or Upward HR over the last number of months you may be wondering who and what exactly Upward HR is. Until recently I have quietly engaged primarily with my individual and corporate clients and students in my classes.

The last 20 months have been an incredibly important time for reflection, development and growth. I decided to update and refresh my brand, programs and offerings and to bring forward what I value as my business evolves and grows and I’m sharing them with you!

In 2016, I published my first book  A Grand Dinner Party as a big, fat business card, left corporate life and quite frankly have never looked back! 

I started Upward HR as a way to partner with teams and individuals to help do and achieve better. I chose the name Upward because it represents movement and is aspirational, and hopefully inspirational too!

I want organizations and individuals to feel clear and confident about what they do, and achieve the results they want. 

Upward HR has 3 key differentiators Relationships, Resilience and Reinvention. These have always resonated for me as a practitioner because they are timeless elements that great organizations and amazing employees can create, develop and maintain.

Relationships are powerful, often underrated and the glue that makes work and life stick together. What we achieve is really a measure of the quality of our relationships.

Resilience is feeling we have when we are managing what’s in front of us now and in the future because we trust ourselves. Resilience is more than a catch phrase in leadership articles or a vague end state. It’s understanding that what you have to offer is valuable and knowing how to offer it consistently as things change.

Reinvention is possible and necessary. I did it and you can too! You might not leave corporate life, write a book or run a business like I do, but there is always an opportunity to reinvent yourself, your team or how you approach your work.

When these 3 things exist in a positive way, people feel valued for who they are, what they bring, and the workplace becomes a place of possibilities. It’s also easier to:

  • Develop connection
  • Increase meaningful productivity
  • Achieve better outcomes

I am passionate about creating workplace environments where individuals are open to the possibilities and the strengths within themselves and within their teams.
